Our Staff

The Duke CIBER prides itself on its talented, experienced, and personable staff. Below is a brief description of each CIBER team member and his or her role in the center. Click on the links supplementing the descriptions to find out more.
 
Arie Y. Lewin , Director
Dr. Lewin is Professor of Business Administration and Sociology at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Director of Duke CIBER. As Director, he oversees the overall program, budget, and management of the center and serves as a principal investigator.

Maly Sibounheuang , Associate Director

Maly assists the Director in planning, developing, and implementing proposed Title VI programs; oversees the day-to-day operation including staff management, budget, and public relations; and is responsible for government reporting and program evaluation. In addition, she acts as a liaison between the center and the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, other CIBERs, the U.S. Department of Education, faculty, and visiting scholars.

Jeff Russell , Director of Research Operations
Jeff manages both the Offshoring Research Initiative and the InterCultural Edge (ICE) Research and Teaching Consortium. The ICE Research and Teaching Consortium is a collaborative effort involving Richard Lewis Communications, 14 CIBER schools and the development of a web application environment for cross-cultural teaching applications and research. He works closely with Fuqua faculty and other CIBER school faculty who wish to develop new web-based cross-cultural components for their courses or conduct cross-cultural research in business.
 
Ayse Durmaz, Software Developer

Stephan Manning, Offshoring Research Associate  

As lead researcher on the Offshoring Research Initiative, Stephan is responsible for the data analyses, case studies and research reports of the project.

Stefanie McAdoo, Staff Assistant
Serves as the first point of contact for the center, provides administrative and logistical support to the Director, Associate Director, and staff to help achieve CIBER's goals and missions set forth. Reviews and reconciles the departmental budget; schedules appointments, meetings, and travel; and requests and processes expenditures and invoices. In addition, a portion of time is devoted to supporting Professor Lewin with his academic programs.
