Celebrating the Contributions of Arie Y. Lewin |

Organization Science Welcome! We are looking forward to the 2010 Pre-conference and plan on the same format as prior years. This includes the Pre-conferencec Reception, and two sessions taking place Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. We are expecting that about one quarter of those attending will be "Regulars," with the rest being considered as "Theme Related." "Regulars" are people who have been attending about every other year (typically). They provide the enduring core and institutional structure of OSWC. The overarching goal of OSWC XVI is to celebrate Arie Y. Lewin, founder of the journal Organization Science and the OSWC and his contributions to the renewal of the field of organizations which trace back to his departmental editorship in Management Science (Organization Performance, Strategy and Design). He was the founding program director of the Decision Risk and Management Science program at NSF; and most recently his contribution to international business through his transformation of the Journal of International Business Studies. The Regulars welcome anyone invited to the conference to attend the pre-conference. Last year we had a very pleasant pre-conference. In addition to talks by Regulars, a number of theme-oriented conference participants also presented some very interesting material. Those who are invited to present at the Pre-conference, will be allowed about 25 minutes for each presentation. This means we have time for about SIX to EIGHT talks. YOU may think of your talk as bringing all of us up-to-date with your recent research. WE THINK OF YOUR TALK AS THE BEGINNING OF AN OSWC CONVERSATION LASTING SEVERAL DAYS: on ski-lifts, in lift-lines and bars, or (imagine) at the conference itself! So, you need to help us out on this!! The "audience" will be seated together board room style, primed and ready to converse about your ideas. Try to end your presentation with a couple of conversation-leading discussion points or thought engendering questions. PRE-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE: Pre-conference registration fee will be $25.00 and will include... Wednesday : Registration at 4:30pm Thursday : Continental Breakfast at 7:00am.
